My X-mas Break

I had a good break. This is how it all went down.

I kicked off the break with a Christmas party at my house and it was, I dare say, a smashing success. Many of my vet school friends came.

Then, my Dad and I went on an ice fishing trip way up to the Lake of the Woods. There wasn't any snow or ice until we hit Bemidji. We stayed two days and three nights at a nice little resort. They had a trailer that took you to a nice, heated ice shack in the morning and picked you up at the end of the day. I thought we would hit the mother-load of walleye and we caught...well, one. But it was delicious. We got locked in our ice shack one day and had a very interesting trailer ride with a bunch of drunk people (who incidentally caught a ton of fish). That trailer ride was the first time I have ever heard travel distance given in units of beer (i.e. it takes a twenty-four pack of beer to get to Ottertail).

We may have also found proof of global warming....

I had a good time with family at Christmas, and got to spend some time with friends. It made my heart glad to see Steph, Matt, and Jordan. It was great to hang out with friends in town too, since school is so busy I don't get out much. I also got to spend time with my dear friend Laura and her dear little one.

Now, the break's over and it's back to school. Happy 2007 everyone!!!!

It was great to see you, Sam. And the fish is hilarious. My roommates watched the Al Gore global warming movie a couple days ago... I had to talk them down from a panic when it was over.
